OnePlus One owners can keep receiving Cyanogen over-the-air update in India

The Indian office of OnePlus announced today that the company’s previous legal issues with Micromax have been resolved, allowing OnePlus One owners in that country to keep getting over-the-air updates to the Cyanogen OS. In December, Micromax filed a lawsuit against OnePlus, claiming that the OnePlus One’s Cyanogen branding was in violation of Micromax’s exclusive agreement to use the OS in India. Sales of the OnePlus One were also banned in India for a little while but that ban was lifted in January.

Today, the OnePlus One Indian blog issued this update:

Five months hence, we are happy to confirm today that all legal proceedings have been resolved and the cases have been withdrawn through mutual consent. We hate donning suits and ties anyways. To make things sweeter, we would like to re-assure our customers and fans in India that our flagship phone, the “OnePlus One” will continue to receive OTA updates from Cyanogen in-line with our users in markets around the world.

OnePlus has already released its own Android-based replacement for Cyanogen for OnePlus One owners, OxygenOS
